Colm Kearney is the founder and owner of Kearney Solicitors. Prior to establishing Kearney Solicitors in 2019, Colm spent seven years working as an associate in what is now known as Clark Hill Solicitors in Dublin prior to joining a well-known mid- sized firm where he was a partner for four years. Colm trained to become a solicitor in Evershed Sutherland Solicitors (formerly O' Donnell Sweeney Solicitors).
Colm has extensive experience in all areas of commercial, corporate and banking law, including commercial acquisitions and sales, venture capital and private equity transactions, corporate restructurings, financing transactions, commercial contracts and corporate governance. Colm's practice areas also include debt recovery, insolvency and enforcement of security, litigation and dispute resolution.
Colm advises a number of high-profile clients across various sectors in the Irish and international markets, including corporate lending, corporate finance, retail, leisure, food and drink, logistics, marketing, technology, ESG and sustainability, energy and engineering sectors.
Colm is a well-respected, friendly and enthusiastic lawyer who adopts a commercial and responsive approach to advising his clients. He holds a Bachelor of Civil Law degree from University College Dublin and a Master’s in Business Studies from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business.
Nicky qualified as a solicitor in 2006, having trained at Matheson Solicitors. Nicky spent a number of years working at Matheson following qualification, gaining experience working as a solicitor in the Employment Department and subsequently as a senior associate in the Private Client Department. Nicky then worked as General Counsel at Goodbody Stockbrokers, before joining Kearney Solicitors in 2019.
Nicky Lynch has considerable experience across a diverse range of legal fields, including commercial and contract law, employment law, charities and private client law.
Nicky is very experienced in employment law, advising both companies and individuals on employment law queries, contracts and disputes, including employee related issues which typically arise in the course of corporate transactions.
Nicky's main areas of practice also include advising on private client matters, including succession and estate planning, the administration of estates and any disputes arising, trusts and enduring powers of attorney. Nicky also advises charitable bodies on their formation and governance and has experience in establishing trusts for incapacitated individuals.
Nicky holds a Bachelor of Civil Law Degree from University College Dublin and a Higher Diploma in Business Studies from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, University College Dublin. She has also completed a Diploma in Employment Law at University College Dublin, for which she was awarded a distinction, and the Diploma in Trusts and Estate Planning at the Law Society of Ireland, for which she was awarded an academic prize.
Margaret Harty is a consultant solicitor at Kearney Solicitors, specialising in property matters. Margaret is an experienced lawyer, having qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and having worked in senior positions in well-known and long established conveyancing focused firms.
Margaret acts in all manner of property transactions, advising clients on both residential and commercial property matters. Margaret has expert knowledge in property law, having advised on a wide range of transactions, from the purchase and sale of homes for individuals to medium and large scale residential and commercial developments for property developers, builders and landlords. She also advises on all aspects of landlord and tenant law, including residential and commercial leases.
Margaret takes a solution-driven approach to property matters, ensuring that any issues are dealt with as soon as they arise and clients are kept fully appraised of how matters are progressing.
Margaret is also experienced in succession and probate matters.
Margaret holds a Bachelor of Commerce International Degree from University College Dublin and is also fluent in French.
Joanne qualified as a solicitor in 2019, while working in a mid-sized commercial firm in Dublin.
Shortly after qualifying, Joanne joined the banking team of a top 6 firm, where she advised on several multi-jurisdictional transactions, acting on behalf of both lenders and borrowers.
Joanne has also gained extensive experience throughout her legal career to date in corporate, commercial and banking law.
While working in a top 10 firm, Joanne advised on media and entertainment law with a strong focus on advising lenders and borrowers in respect of television and film production finance and related security. Joanne works closely with our corporate and commercial law team, assisting in the provision of clear legal advice to our clients on banking, commercial and corporate matters.
Joanne holds a first-class honours Bachelor of Laws degree, a Master’s degree in Social Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree. Joanne has also completed a number of legal diplomas and certificates throughout her career, including a Diploma in Finance Law, a Diploma in Aviation Leasing and Finance, a Certificate in Aviation Leasing and Finance, Certificate in Commercial Contracts and an Advanced Diploma in Corporate, White-Collar and Regulatory Crime.
Christian joined Kearney Solicitors in February 2024, having trained and qualified as a solicitor in a well known and respected Dublin boutique law firm. Christian is an integral part of the corporate advisory and dispute resolution teams at Kearney Solicitors, applying her meticulous and detailed approach to all aspects of client advice.
